Tiberius

Tiberius

The Tiberius pattern from the Cookie A Sock Club was a joy to knit. My pair is not from the club yarn, but Wollmeise Pure in the colorway Petit Poison Nr.5 light. I oscillate between wanting to knit socks in 100 % merino, or a merino/cashmere/nylon blend. I have a tendency to knit my socks slightly too small, probably at least in part due to my very tight gauge (I've bent solid stainless steel needles by just knitting with them), and I'm starting to learn that 2.5 mm is probably a better fit than 2.25 mm when it comes to needle size with socks knit from fingering weight yarn. These socks turned out exactly the size they were supposed to. I would gladly keep them myself, but they will be gifted.

  2. they are beautiful! Cookie A patterns are a pleasure to knit and wollmeise ah! pure joy! I made one with this yarn and I had to small the needle size too, I found also that American needle size is a bit different to those European mm needles, have you try the Chiaogoo? the Red Lace line and #1 is perfect to knit sochs and the cable is more flexible compared to Addi and Knitpro. :)

    1. Nowadays I use Dyakcraft Heavy Metal circular for sock knitting, and I love them. I use a smaller needle on the left while magic looping so the stitches are easier to move around. This is only possible with interchangeable needles, of course.

  3. I simply love the colours you use in your projects. Wollmeise has a lot of very nice colours but not all of them are as vibrant and sparkling as the ones you pick. Every time I see one of your sock project I want to knit something very similar!
The good news for my budget is that I still have a few skeins of sock yarn to use up. Phew!
Love the pattern too, it looks like a very enjoyable knit.
